This is the second post, in a series of six, about this semester's C. S. Lewis class. The current reading list for this semester includes The Great Divorce, Miracles, The Screwtape Letters, The Pilgrims Regress, The Weight of Glory, and Letters to Malcolm. I am in the process of developing more Christian Literature electives for the Ministry Praxis and General Education programs. That means these Praxis classes can fulfill humanities requirements in the other programs. This post is about my favorite book out of the series: Miracles. |

If you've called the school anytime during the past two years, there's a good chance we've spoken. In case you don't remember me, my name is Robert. I originally came to VISIBLE SCHOOL to pursue Worship Leadership, but then switched to Ministry Praxis to prepare for Seminary. Now, just a few months into my doctoral program at Oxford Graduate School, I have taken on a new hat. In addition to my administrative tasks--answering phones, taking care of facilities, ordering office supplies, and assisting with computer support--I will also be teaching English Composition, Christian Literature, and co-teaching Theology of the Kingdom. This will be my first year on faculty after four years of doing life in the VISIBLE Community. |

Following the Blitz Term, students from the WHAT class were assigned the responsibility of leading community worship in a way that reflects something from the course content. Over the course of the semester, groups of students will be sharing a wide variety of worship experiences in which the VISIBLE community will take part. On September 11, the experience focused on what it might have been like to be part of a First Century house church. The experience centered on sharing and celebration. Dr. Paul Criss concluded the service by presiding over communion. The service was very effective in helping all who participated to understand life in the early church. |
